MILOŠ PAVLOVIĆ TRIUMPHs ON THE HOT ASPHALT OF MONZA!

Serbian racing driver Miloš Pavlović achieved a very important victory at the endurance race in Monza, which was run as part of the Italian GT Championship. Pavlović, in the team with the German driver Spengler and the Thai driver Lomahadtai, celebrated in the class, and the crew of the Star Performance Team achieved the fifth place in the general classification.

The second race weekend of the Italian GT Endurance Championship was marked by high temperatures on the legendary track, with asphalt temperatures of over 50 degrees Celsius. High temperatures seemed to suit the preparation of the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo II car, so a drop in temperature on Saturday afternoon during qualifying spoiled the team’s plans for a high starting position. For this reason, Pavlović entered Sunday’s three-hour race from 16th place, but a tropical Sunday in Monza increased the chances of a better finish at the end.

It turned out that already after Miloš’s first “stint”, the chance for a podium increased further, considering that the Serbian motorist handed over the “Hurricane” number 33 to his colleague from Thailand as the eighth-placed. As many as 40 crews took part in the race within four classes, and several accidents in the early stages with the “safety car” on the track helped the three Star Performance teams to establish themselves at the top. When, after the first hour, the closest rival in the class was already a whole lap behind, it was only necessary to bring the race to a routine end, without unnecessary risks. If first Spengler and then Pavlović had pushed in the last change, they might have gotten a podium in the general standings, but winning the class due to bad luck in the previous race in Misano was a priority. Miloš crossing the finish line was the signal for the start of a big celebration for the team whose cars are being prepared by the Italian ASR team. Several thousand spectators gathered under the famous victory podium in Monza, and the celebration with champagne made official the return of championship ambitions.

The next endurance race within the Italian GT Championship is scheduled for the beginning of August, but there is no break for Pavlović, considering that he is already performing on another legendary track next weekend. This time, it’s a race weekend in Belgium, at the Spa-Francorchamps track, where two races are being held as part of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo competition. Miloš performs with the Italian Alessio Ruffini, where together they form the crew of the ASR racing team.

“We really needed this result, considering that we were unlucky in the first race of the season in this championship. I then made a mistake, something that hasn’t happened in years and, to be honest, from that race until Sunday afternoon in Monza, I was going through hell, because it’s never nice when you make a mistake that affects the whole team. We have now corrected that and are back on track. Now we can continue fighting in the championship in a positive rhythm!”.
