SUCCESS IN BARCELONA: A PODIUM BEFORE THE GRAND FINALS!

Milos and Alessioo celebrate second place in Barcelona

SUCCESS IN BARCELONA: A PODIUM BEFORE THE GRAND FINALS!

Serbian racing driver Miloš Pavlović reached another podium finish in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe championship, at the race weekend that was held at the grand prix track near Barcelona! Our ace secured the second position in the second race of the weekend after a great drive in the last ten laps of the 50-minute race. Sunday’s race for the duo Pavlović – Ruffini was started by the Italian driver, who handled himself brilliantly at the start, avoiding all the accidents and turned the 25th starting place into the 13th position in the race after just a few corners. During his “stint”, he bravely fought with their rivals and managed to hand Miloš the car in 15th position in the general standings and in 6th place within the Pro-Am class. Just before the driver change a safety car came out on the track and grouped the field, which opened an opportunity for Pavlović to fight for a high ranking.

Unfortunately, the period under the safety car lasted very long, so Miloš, instead of the usual 30 minutes of driving, had a little less than 20 minutes to try to reach the very top. The time was not enough for the feat, but the Serbian ace managed to advance seven positions and in the process he overtook four rivals from the class, which was enough for a new podium in the Pro-Am standings.

This result came well after the first race in which points were won, but without securing a podium finish. Namely, Milos took the eighth starting position for Saturday’s race, advanced to second place during his “stint”. Alessio did his best but was not able to maintain the position also because a safety car neutralised the gap with their opposition. They finished in sixth place in the class.

Second place in Barcelona came at the right time, given that the Lamborghini Supert Trofeo Europe is only two races away from the end of the season. Pavlović and Ruffini are in third place in the general classification within the Pro-Am category with 80 points each, four less than the currently second-placed crew Bac/Kuppens from the Belgian team Boutsen VDS, which heralds an interesting fight for the runner-up position. Pro-Am class leaders Guerin and Dimitrov (CMR), winners from Barcelona, lead with 128 points each.

The last two races of this season as part of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe Championship are scheduled for November 6 and 7 in Misano, where the following two days (November 8 and 9), the World Finals of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo competition will take place, with the participation of the best crews from the continental championships of Europe, North America and Asia.

“I am very happy with the races in Barcelona! Alessio and I managed to finish both races in the points, and I’m especially happy with the second race in the program because we got on the podium! With the second place in our class, we climbed to the third position in the championship. Now we have one more race weekend left, so I hope we will be able to round off our performance in the championship in a positive way.”
