Tough weekend in Belgium
Second round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe championship was held in Belgium on the 10 & 11 of May on the legendary circuit of Spa-Francorchamps.
It was a tough weekend for the car #33 of the ASR team. Miloš showed great pace throughout the weekend but when it was time to qualify, he found himself in a wrong place at a wrong time. He was sent out on track in the middle of a group of other slower cars and with 20 minutes qualifying and only one set of new tires there was no time to change the strategy. This resulted in him only managing to do the 25th time overall.
In race one Miloš recovered various position in the opening laps of the race and later handed the car in P2 (Pro-Am category) to his teammate. Alessio did his best to defend the position but eventually finished fifth in class.
The second race in programme didn’t see Miloš drive at all. Alessio was doing well but unfortunately he was hit from behind and sent into a wall by another competitor. This resulted in a retirement from the race. Alessio wasn’t hurt in the accident.
“everything that could go wrong did go wrong. A nightmare weekend for us. it’s tough to go home with only one fifth place when you know that the potential to do better was there”.
